Georgian is the language of the Republic of Georgia, once part of the USSR. The Georgian script is also used for Mingrelian and Svan. The characters in this range should be used for the secular, caseless Mkhedruli script; for the ecclesiatical, cursive Nuskhuri script, the characters in the Georgian Supplement range should be used.

Microsoft Windows incorporates support for Georgian Unicode from Windows 2000 onwards.

Georgian Web pages with UTF-8 character encoding are supported by Internet Explorer 5 (or higher) under Windows 95 (or higher), and Netscape Navigator 6 for Windows also seems to be able to display Georgian Unicode.

The characters that appear in the “Character” columns of the following table depend on the browser that you are using, the fonts installed on your computer, and the browser options you have chosen that determine the fonts used to display particular character sets, encodings or languages.

You can find some or all of the characters in this range in the Windows Unicode fonts Arial Unicode MS, BPG Classic 99U, BPG Paata Khutsuri U, Code2000, DejaVu Sans, DejaVu Serif, DejaVu Sans Condensed, DejaVu Sans Mono, DejaVu Serif Condensed, EversonMono, Fixedsys Excelsior, Free Sans, Free Serif, MPH 2B Damase, Quivira, sixpack, Sun-ExtA, Sylfaen, TITUS Cyberbit Basic and UniBurma; and in the Mac OS X Unicode font Zuzumbo.

Apple changed the name of Clarisworks 5.0 to AppleWorks 5.0 after shutting down the Claris software division. Technically there is an Appleworks 5 for the Apple II put out by Quality Computers and an Appleworks 5 for the Mac put out by Apple. Appleworks for windows.
